The air we breathe at home needs to be free from pollutants and allergens. If your aim is to lead a healthy and disease-free life then getting a good air purifier is the only option. Most of the air purifying products are designed for small rooms and wouldn’t be able to deliver clean air to a large sized room.
So, today I’m going to review the Honeywell HPA300 which is which purifies the air effectively and at the same time is able to handle the needs of medium to large size living areas.
Honeywell HPA 300 Features and Performance
Honeywell, as we all know is the most recommended air cleaner by allergists. This HPA300 model filters air in two stages. First, the fan pulls in dirty room air through the front grille which then passes through the odor-reducing prefilter. This prefilter is made up of activated carbon which helps in capturing odors, VOCs as well as large size airborne particles. These include dust particles, hair and allergy-causing pollen and mould.
After the initial stage of purification, the partially clean air is now filtered using a true HEPA air filter. This HEPA filter is capable of capturing allergens like germs, bacteria, viruses and other microparticles which are left out in the initial stage of purification. t is highly efficient and able to get rid of 99.9% of airborne allergens whose sizes can be as little as 0.3 microns in diameter.

The Honeywell HPA 300 is specifically designed for medium to large sized room spaces. Typically, this air cleaner can filter and deliver pure air to rooms in the range of 400 sq. ft. to 450 sq. ft in area. This product has better room coverage area when compared to other air purifiers in the same price range. Also, because of the extensive coverage it provides, you can probably use it as a whole house purifier if you are living in a small home or apartment.
Honeywell HPA300 is certified by the AHAM and has some decent CADR metrics to its name. The Clean Air Delivery Ratings are like a benchmark in the air purification industry and this HPA 300 model has a CADR of 300 for Smoke, 320 for Dust and 300 for Pollen.
Apart from the CADR, Air Change Rate is another important thing that you need to keep in mind while choosing air cleaners. The air change rate is the number of times a purifier will filter the indoor air in an hour and model from Honeywell is capable of filtering impure room air up to 5 times every hour.
The HPA 300 air purifier is Energy Star certified and is able to deliver pollutant-free air while consuming less power. It has three fan speed settings and an additional turbo clean level which can be used in case the room has a higher level of airborne pollutants.
Unlike other devices, this purifier has a control panel light dimmer with automatically dims the LED lights on the top panel to prevent distractions. Like most other air cleaners, it has an electronic filter replacement indicator which automatically glows to remind you when the filters need to be changed.
Additionally, there is an Auto Shut-off option using which you can program the purifier to stop functioning after 2, 4 or 8 hours. You can set the timer while leaving for office and by the time you return home, you’d be happy to breathe clean air.
I’ve noticed that the front panel cover isn’t much strong and needs to be handled carefully. But, this is just a minor defect given its capacity to purify indoor air.
The Honeywell HPA300 model is perfect for filtering contaminated air in bigger living areas. At its price, not many purifiers can provide such large coverage and efficient clean air delivery at the same time. The CADR numbers are quite impressive and imply that this is truly a powerful machine. Do read what others have to say about it.Read More Reviews on Honeywell Allergen Remover HPA300 Purifier
